The streets of Lauderdale Lakes, FL will come alive once again with the pulsating sights and sounds of the Caribbean during the 19th Annual Unifest Celebration, Sunday May 19, 2013. We look forward to all the festivities, performances and patrons.
Unifest Live is presented annually by the Greater Caribbean Cultural Coalition(GCACC). Live Caribbean music and entertainment, cultural displays, a mini carnival street parade, Battle of the marching bands, kids zone, arts & crafts booths, health and business expo, Island food and more are always the focus of the festival. Our goal each year is to provide educational scholarship to deserving students of Caribbean heritage from the community, while at the same time providing dynamic, educational and culturally diverse entertainment.
UNIFEST is the oldest Caribbean multicultural event in Broward County. UNIFEST, in its 19th year, is an array of cultural mix and creativity designed to unify people and showcase their diverse cultures. It brings cultural education and awareness to the community through varied activities, e.g., music, health fair, Caribbean foods, business expo, cultural costumes, arts and sports.
UNIFEST is designated as the official kick-off to the month of June "National Caribbean American Heritage Month". Through UNIFEST, we endeavor to continue working to unite and bring even more awareness to the cultural make up of our community. Part proceeds benefit the organization's scholarship program.
