ABOUT

For the past 30 years, UNIFEST, has brought  communities together by bridging cultures as we celebrate “MANY ISLANDS – ONE PEOPLE”. The festival is lovingly organized and produced by the Greater Caribbean-American Cultural Coalition in conjunction with its partners, the Greater Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lauderdale Lakes with the support of the Mayor and Commissioners.

This year, Unifest is under the theme Culture Meets Cricket.

Touted as the oldest Multicultural Festival in Broward County, attendees will enjoy events that include musical performances from local and internationally acclaimed artists representing countries throughout the Caribbean. Displays of Caribbean cultural artifacts.  Visit the Consulates and Tourist Boards to learn more about your favorite island in the sun.

Sunday fun day has something for everyone. Bring the family to Vincent Torres Park.

  • Relax and enjoy the beats

  • Savor the flavors emanating from world class food vendors

  • Meet local business leaders who passionately serve our communities

  • Let the kids roam freely about the cabin in our multi-activity kid’s zone.

  • Energize with our exciting Battle of the Bands

Cultural Coalition

The GCACC (Greater Caribbean American Cultural Coalition) is an umbrella organization serving the Caribbean people and other members of the community, by bringing together the various Caribbean countries and Islands, and their rich cultural heritage.

Caribbean Culture is a diverse and rich cultural blend of many original cultures from all corners of the globe. Caribbean people have struggled and strived to maintain ties with their ancestral links while creating something entirely different. That is why everywhere you go in the Caribbean, you will find a wonderful blend of the old and the new; a melding of European and African influences, Asian and Middle Eastern components, and the new forms which themselves cannot necessarily be traced to any origin other than that of the “Caribbean”.

MISSION STATEMENT: Enrich the cultural environment of the Caribbean people and other members of the community, by fostering multicultural understanding through an appreciation of Caribbean cultures.
